Co-founders Kellie and Shelley have combined experience of 40 years working in project and people management, both having degrees in Social Science and Management. For the last three years Kellie and Shelley have both been working in the disability sector in the Hunter, Central Coast and Mid North Coast Regions of NSW. They have been working within the NDIS space from the pilot period. During this time they have developed an in depth knowledge of NDIS plans and line items, NDIS processes and have kept abreast of the many changes and trends. In addition, they have developed a good understanding of the challenges faced by service providers working in the changing landscape of the disability industry.
One of the challenges for service providers includes working in the new customer driven environment which relies on marketing themselves well and connecting to new business. And for people with disabilities and their families, the challenge is finding the right service, connecting quickly and utilising their funding effectively.
One Community was formed to help overcome these challenges. The vision of One Community is to build the capacity of the disability industry and we will do this through the implementation of strategies that connect services and people.
